The JustMums Recruitment team are excited to announce that we acquired Working Mothers Connect (Australia & New Zealand) in July 2018.

Working Mothers Connect is a like-minded organisation offering an online platform connecting mums with flexible jobs and will complement our existing business model as an end-to-end recruitment agency. The acquisition will bring together over 60,000 mums in Australia and New Zealand who are actively seeking flexible work opportunities with family friendly employers.

According to KPMG’s recent report Ending workforce discrimination against women, “improving workforce participation rates for women could boost GDP by $60 billion by 2038”. Additionally, results from a recent survey conducted by JustMums Recruitment revealed that over 54.6% of mums were looking to change jobs in 2018 (with over 45% stating that their current employer isn’t supportive of flexible work request) and 45% were returning from parental leave. The JustMums Recruitment team have placed hundreds of working mums and mums returning to work with flexible and family-friendly employers since opening in 2012 – and this recent acquisition will strengthen our ability to do so.

Rachel Perkins, Founder and Director at JustMums Recruitment said “This is an exciting move – an opportunity to grow two distinct business models to support working mums in Australia and New Zealand. These are two complimentary but very unique businesses – one connecting mums with flexible roles and employers through a digital platform, and the other providing a more personalised offering through recruitment, coaching and support services. It is an exciting time for mums as they will have greater access to resources and support to overcome the challenges many face when they return to work or struggle to balance career and family.”

Founder of Working Mothers Connect, Natasha Gallardo, said “After meeting with Rachel and Erin, I felt that Working Mothers Connect would certainly benefit from their expertise and continue to support our community of working mums. They get it, as they are working mums themselves. With their recruitment expertise and our automated job platform the opportunity to merge made perfect sense. The capabilities of the JustMums team will enable the business to continue to support working mums, plus build stronger relationships with existing clients and new employers.”

If you are a family friendly employer looking to offer flexible work arrangements to secure top talent, you will now have access to a talent pool of over 60,000 experienced and professional Mums in Australia and New Zealand. You can either:

If you are a working mum or mum returning to work, you will now have access to more flexible and family friendly employment opportunities and career support services including:

Erin Kefalas, Director at JustMums Recruitment saidWe represent an experienced talent pool that is so often overlooked by other recruitment agencies and employers that will not consider flexible work arrangements. Our client base has always been diverse (ranging from large corporates to SME’s to not-for-profits) and rather than specialising in any particular role or industry sector, we focus on partnering with like-minded employers who are serious about improving their company’s gender equality and workplace diversity and inclusion strategies. Our acquisition of Working Mothers Connect will enable us to partner with a larger group of flexible employers and connect them with our larger talent pool of talented mums”.
