Amaze Social Impact, Purpose and Strategic Directions – Work 2-3 days (negotiable)

Our Social Impact: Amaze aims for a society that i) respects the dignity of every person on the autism spectrum and ii) offers each of them opportunities for meaningful participation and to make a valued contribution.

Our Purpose: We build awareness and understanding of autism. We develop community capacity by working with others to help them value and support people on the autism spectrum and their families.

Outcomes to be achieved by 2040: 1) Community awareness and understanding of autism in Victoria increases over time; 2) Attitudes and behaviours towards people on the autism spectrum by the Victorian community (government, private and social sectors) improves over time; 3) Opportunities for meaningful participation and a valued contribution increase for people on the autism spectrum.

Strategic Activities: Build awareness and increase understanding of autism through media activity to promote facts and dispel myths, World Autism Awareness Day, provision of information and resources. Advocate for positive change through quality, evidence based advice to governments and other organisations on critical issues such as early identification and assessment, education and employment support, disability and community services. Community engagement and capacity building through consultation with the autism community, improving knowledge, skills and capability of individuals and private, public and social organisations.

Position Summary and Overall Scope:

Reporting to the Manager, Community Engagement & Capacity Building, the position will focus on driving new business and sales for Amaze Knowledge. The position will require identifying training / professional development opportunities and building collaborative relationships with current training clients, the disability sector and training partners to generate referrals.

In addition, the position will require setting appointments and meeting with prospective clients, preparing submissions, assisting with sales strategies to achieve monthly training targets for numbers of sessions and budgeted targets, coordinating programs, updating the Amaze CRM and contributing to forward planning to ensure the continued growth of the business. The role operates in a period of change and transition as the NDIS is fully implemented (from mid 2016 to 2020).

Key Accountabilities:

Business Development

  • Generate leads
  • Follow up on existing relationships (in conjunction with Manager) via phone and email
  • Determine training needs, quote and book training
  • Contact past training participants and upsell
  • Develop a marketing strategy to increase revenue
  • Represent Amaze at network meetings, reference groups, expos as required
  • Develop strategies for increasing revenue in line with Amaze’s Strategic Direction

Operations

  • Oversee bookings in Amaze Knowledge calendar and delegate sessions to team members where appropriate
  • Meet budgeted training targets
  • Monitor feedback on training and identify any trends regarding training needs for new product development and to identify further training opportunities

CRM

  • Data input in Salesforce, including adherence to minimum data sets, data conventions (i.e. formatting of phone numbers etc.) to ensure quality data capture.
  • Develop and generate monthly reports in Salesforce for Manager Capacity Building.

General

Respond to incoming training enquiries/requests from people on the autism spectrum, families/carers and professionals via the Amaze Autism Information Line or Autism Advisor Service.

Amaze Quality Management System (QMS)

  • All Amaze employees are required to be familiar with and adhere to policies and procedures within the Amaze QMS available on the Amaze network.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related field, and/or 3-5 years demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills.
  • Track record in achievement of sales revenue against budgets and achievement of sales growth in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to strategically prospect and recruit new clients and maintain/nurture existing clients in the training sector (B2B).
  • Experience in performing comprehensive client needs’ analysis and providing a training solution
  • High level interpersonal, relationship building, persuasion and presentation skills
  • Experience in forecasting and reporting including development of monthly pipeline to meet monthly and annual sales targets.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder is advantageous
  • Knowledge of disability service system and the ability to determine the implications of the National Disability Insurance Scheme would be an advantage

Competencies

The successful applicant  must be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong planning, time management and prioritising skills;
  • Well-developed Microsoft Office skills and experience with databases;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent relationship building skills; and
  • The drive and ability to achieve sales targets.
