Following a National Review into discrimination related to pregnancy, parental leave and return to work it was found that:

  • 1 in 2 (49%) of mothers had experienced discrimination in the workplace (2014)
  • The number of women who decided not to return to work at all after having a baby was more than 50% higher if they had experienced discrimination
  • 91% of women had not reported the discrimination to their workplace or another agency
